At A Loss

         i.m. J. L.

I went for a walk by the Rhine to go looking for words.

There were none in the water.

There were none in the sunshine.

There were none on the ferry.

There were none on the benches beside the river.

There were none on the faces of those passing by.

I went for a walk by the Rhine to go looking for words.

I found the word water.

I found the word sunshine.

I found the word ferry.

I found the word benches.

I found the word faces.

These were the only words that I found.

I gathered them up and wrote them down.

Water. Sunshine. Ferry. Benches. Faces.
