The Middle Way

Sitting in the dark

In my complete middle-aged submission,

Listening to music

And, with my eyes closed and pretending

To stroke the fur of my long lost cat,

Contemplating The Middle Way

But not finding any path worth pursuing

At the moment

As the sun has already gone down

And I am so tired

I can hardly type

These words

Or any

Others

Much less consider

Compromise.

Surrender is simpler.
